Speaking of Balls

Ever since Foodgoat got a meatball sub at Valentino's and found it DIVINE, his desire for another meatball sub has only grown.

And then one day, it suddenly occurred to him that he could make his own.

Adapting his hamburger recipe, he mixed up beef, pork, eggs, roasted garlic, salt and pepper, bread crumbs, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and parsley, and formed some generously sized balls.

After frying them in olive oil, he then roasted them at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. They went into a pot with marinara sauce for a while. Sub sandwich buns were then loaded with Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese, with meatballs and sauce and then wrapped in foil and put in the oven for a while.

It was surprisingly easy to do and came out delicious - even better than Valentino's, if you ask me. Of course, it's not pretty, but often, the best tasting food isn't.

  1. That looks out of control yummy. That would be a great get-together food, build your own meatball sub party. Hey, the boys in college would dig it!
